Offline detection of total organic carbon in purified water and water for injection within the pharmaceutical industry; offline detection of total organic carbon in purified water within the food industry; offline detection of total organic carbon in process water within the electronics industry.
Principle:
RAY-1000PL, as an offline detection instrument, employs the principle of direct conductivity measurement. Upon entering the instrument, the water sample is split into two streams of equal flow rate. One stream passes through a delay coil into the conductivity sensor for IC detection, while the other stream flows through a spiral quartz glass tube. Under ultraviolet light irradiation, organic matter in the water is oxidized and decomposed into carbon dioxide, which then enters the conductivity sensor for TC detection. Total organic carbon (TOC) is calculated from this differential value: TOC = TC – IC. Finally, waste liquid is discharged through a peristaltic pump via the drain pipe.
